Our Trainers

Peggy Mincey

The owner and head trainer at Fit By Design. Peggy has over twenty years of personal training experience. Her passion to help people achieve their health and fitness goals is the key to their success. She is a certified Personal Trainer by American Council of Exercise. Peggy worked for various private studios as well as mobile training in private homes for seven years prior to opening her own studio in the River Village Shopping Center. Her training style is to take care of the whole body and it will take care of you. Many women will come in asking to just tone the arms or trim the waist or a guy with come in wanting bigger biceps, not understanding what it takes to get there. Derrell Mincey

Fitness instructor with over twenty-five years of weight training experience. Derrell has competed in many bodybuilding competitions. As an athlete he has competed in martial arts, track and field, gymnastics and has coached and played football for over 15 years. He understands how to train the body to work for you. He keeps his body in top shape training 6 days a week and can help you attain your goal to be stronger, change the shape of your body and have more energy at the same time.

 

Angelina Sibbald

Angelina joined the Fit by Design team June 2009. She has experience in working with clients of all levels. She has lead Fit Camp and Hatha yoga classes. In addition, she has been an avid runner for the past 12 years and has participated in several races and marathon training. She is passionate about helping others to make healthy living a lifestyle that is enjoyable and attainable.

Shawn Luchenta

Shawn has been a fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 25 years. Sharing fitness with others is my passion and Zumba has taken my teaching skills to a whole new exciting level. You don't have to know how to dance, just show up and experience the most fun you have ever had working out and getting in shape!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy Horwin

Nancy began practicing yoga twelve years ago at the urging of her doctor to relieve stress.  Within weeks of practicing three times weekly, she began noticing a profound sense of well being as well as increased flexibility, strength, stamina, concentration and an overall rejuvenating effect in her body.  Practicing many styles of yoga and experience and exposure to many modalities in the healing arts prompted Nancy to pursue her Yoga Teacher Training at Vitality College in Solana Beach in 2004.  Nancy taught yoga classes at Fallbrook Yoga Center over a four year span and received additional Teacher Training there in the Svaroopa yoga style and Embodyment (tm) training.  Nancy taught recently at Pala Mesa Resort and continues to instruct privately as well.

Natalie Monfort

Natalie is the newest member of the Fit By Design team. She has been one of our Zumba students for the past year studying under Shawn and got her Zumba certification in September 2011. With Zumba continuing to become more popular, we felt that it was time to add more classes to accommodate everyone’s schedule. This is a perfect class if you have never taken a Zumba class and might feel intimidated. All moves and steps are mostly shown in low impact, but are also shown as higher impact/high energy. Zumba being a “self paced/ self modifying” work out, all levels of fitness will benefit from this classes. Natalie is excited to introduce Zumba to a new group of women (and we do have male students), and is thrilled to see the familiar faces that already have been attending and know how fun Zumba makes getting in shape is!
